Copy Property Panel |
The Copy Property panel allows you to copy values from one property to an existing property or a new property for selected entries or all entries in the Project Table.
To open the Copy Property panel, you can:
Choose Property → Copy in the Project Table panel.
To copy values from one property to another, select a source property in the From list and a destination property in the To list, then click All Rows or Selected Rows by Copy values for. The group title and the row number can also be copied to a property, by selecting the appropriate option under From.
To create a new property and copy values to the new property, select a source property in the From list and select <Add New Property> in the To list, then enter a name in the New property name text box. When you have entered the name, the Copy values for buttons become available.
For example, to create a title from the entry name, select Entry Name in the From list and Title in the To list, then click the appropriate button to copy the values.
The source property type is converted to the destination property type if possible. For more information on the conversion rules, see the Maestro User Manual.
To filter either the From or the To properties by property family, choose the family from the relevant Subset option menu. You can also enter a text string (including wildcard characters) in the relevant Filter text box to filter a property list.
Select the source property using these controls. The list, Subset option menu, Filter text box, and Sort option menu are common property selection features.
For each entry, copy the title of the group that it belongs to as the entry property.
Copy the current row number of the entry as the property. This option preserves only the current row numbers, which can change subsequently. It does not keep the property synchronized with the row numbers.
Select this option to specify an entry property for the source, rather than a table property.
If Entry property was chosen as the source type, choose a property from this list as the source property.
Restrict the range of properties shown in the list to that of the chosen subset. This option menu lists the defined property families and two other items, All properties, and Properties shown in Project Table.
Filter the contents of the list so that only the items that match the
expression in the text box are displayed. You can use the wildcard characters
*
for zero or more characters and ?
for a single
character, and square brackets to enclose a range of characters. The filtering
is done as soon as you type in the text box. To remove the filter, clear the
text box.
Sort the property list according to the option selected from the menu: Alphabetically or By project table order.
Select the destination property using these controls. The list, Subset option menu, Filter text box, and Sort option menu are common property selection features.
Choose a property from this list as the destination property, or choose <Add New Property> to create a new property. In the latter case, you must provide a property name in the New property name text box.
